Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

In-Patient Residential Stay
Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

Specialty Programs

[review] => My mother was a staying here recovering from a broken hip. When she arrived they put her in a bed that was soaked with pee. I was there when she tried to call for some water. It took over 3 hours for them to bring her a glass of water! Her medications were not correctly dispensed. Being given at all different time, if at all. Some needed to be taken with food and she had to keep telling them to bring them back when she ate. Good luck getting pain meds. The food is poor. They are feeding the cheapest meals they can make regardless of any diet restrictions. Grilled cheese and fry's for dinner for a diabetic! They do not communicate with the family, even though POA is in effect. They also do not return phone calls.

[review] => My husband was at Metro West Nursing & Rehab Center for 5 weeks. The services were top notch from maintenance to the Administrator Ricky. When they say the patient comes first they truly mean it. During his stay we didn’t meet one person who wasn’t helpful but there were a few that made a lasting impression on both of us. Everyone in Physical Therapy is great but Alba performed miracles on Jim. When he left he could stand up with help, hold himself up alone for 5 minutes and actually take a few steps. If Medicare would have allowed him to stay he probably would have waked out. Thanks Alba! Michelle in Occupational therapy was also great. She taught him to dress himself, but most importantly to transfer from the bed to his wheelchair and back on his own. A really big thanks to the following Nancy in Admissions,Chris in social services, Princess in Nursing, Allien and Yvrose CNA. I wish I could name everyone because they all played a part in Jim’s recovery. Thank you thank you thank you. I would highly recommend this facility if you want quality companionate care.

[review] => I was taken to this facility by choice after a total knee replacement surgery. I saw something that showed 5 star review and compared to my other 3 choices, this is where I wanted to go.
I’ll preface the following review by saying this is by no means about MOST of the incredibly caring and compassionate staff.
That being said, my actual short time here started off a nightmare and there was no single day that went by that it was any different. In reference to MY experience only, I had a major surgery on March 4 and was transported here on Wednesday March 6. I was able to leave thanks to my insurance on Friday March 15. I spent 9 days not ever a day where my medication was correct. Not only was the medication I take normally on a daily basis changed to fit their medication dispensing schedule, a lot of the times It was my most favorite nurse Shirley, the next night who caught it when it happened again that got it corrected. Let’s talk Shirley for a moment. The one among a few other nurses that understood the level of pain a major surgery like knee replacement causes. It is unfortunate that she was left telling me that there was no pain medication for me for one reason or another and being an overnight nurse had little resources or response from an on call doctor to help me get the pain medication that I prescribed and so desperately needed. This issue with pain medication that should have been dispensed every 4 hours continued throughout my stay. My son was calling, my sister was calling and no one was answering questions as to why this was happening. I learned a new phrase while here-“chasing pain”. At 58 years old and I thought somewhat worldly I had never heard that before. I spent most of my time here doing just that-“chasing pain”.
I was given enough PT by Priscilla who patiently taught me how to climb up & down stairs and I’m very grateful for her help.
Finally there was a man who I saw the first day then almost every morning a few days later, Tommy, the maintenance supervisor, That was the first time I realized I could have coffee. I don’t think that was really part of his job but he did get it. And I think it was him that I told about a meeting I along with my sister and dept heads had scheduled 11:30 Monday where no one showed up. My sister had taken time from her job to be my spokesperson. I felt so insignificant and unimportant that I just cried. People came one by one and some, like Jenn from PT, sincerely apologized for missing the meeting, she was out. Others just came by.
I’d like to recognize Eliza, a CNA, who helped me with one of the 2 showers I was given while there and offered to give me a third when not on her schedule but I was too worn out. Yes, that’s 2 showers. 1 sheet change because I spilled a whole cup of water.
Chris, I think in social services spoke with my sister a lot, helped a lot with many aspects of my discharge and was able to help me move it a day earlier out of convenience.
So there were people that genuinely cared and I thought were worried about me. For those people, I am grateful and give five stars. Unfortunately the overall experience I can honestly only give 3 stars.
Thank you to those who cared. If I left out a name it’s only because I don’t remember the name, not because I don’t remember the person. Nurse Shirley, another special thank you for your kindness. You are one of the best nurses I have ever met and I have had too many to count. You have raised the bar of what to expect from all in your field. Thank you.

[review] => Stay far away from this place if you are looking for employment. Heavy work load. I worked a 12 1/2 shift there through agency. All nurses were agency. No one would help you except the ADON. She was really helpful I don’t know why she is at that place. She deserves better. The DON a complete Jerk. The Female NP was also not friendly. The administration Rick seemed nice and welcoming. I worked my butt off at that place. I took care of my patients with care and compassion. There was so much going on with many of my patient's. One that was critical days before I got there. Unfortunately it fell on me. Being new to Florida this place really put a nasty taste in my mouth. I would not suggest to bring any family member to this place. Very under staffed, Caregivers do not care, and unsafe. Dirty facility! If I could give this place no stars I would.

[review] => Only 1 nurse, Princess, was exceptional in her care. The CNA, Kayla, was also good. Alex, the physical therapist did great in explaining his work with my husband. Judy in Activities was sweet. However there was the ignoring of my request to take my husband off Percocet when it was brought up in the care meeting which I found out a week later. Then there was the delay in getting the CPAP machine in time as no one responded quickly once the pulmonologist letter was given to the staff a week before the care meeting, and to get it working properly before he was discharged. There was the conflicting information given from the ladies in the business office regarding first a push to take my husband off the Medicare Advantage plan insurance and change to regular Medicare. The next day they could only boast about how great his Advantage plan was. If I went to the nurses' station at night to get a cup of ice, sometimes I had to wait until the staff standing there finished their conversations which did not seem to always be about the care needed by the patients.

Staff members in every department excel in their jobs and they sincerely care about their patients in the therapy department. The therapists strive to motivate and assist their patients to make a successful recovery. They maintain a positive attitude which they pass on to their patients. There are no words to describe how pleased we are with the care my husband received here. I highly recommend it.

When the staff, from the director to the cafeteria staff and the laundry staff see you there regularly I feel they are much more attentive to your loved one's needs. The facility is clean and has a beautiful interior courtyard for the residents to be out in the fresh air. The Director of Activities and staff are superior in keeping the residents involved and socialized. The Social Work Director as well as the facility Director always have time for you if you have any questions or concerns. The Therapists are amazing how they work with and address each resident's needs plus I love how they greet the residents by name when they see them elsewhere in the facility.

[review] => I was a previous employee of this facility. Hands-down Ricky, the administrator, is one of the best I've ever worked with. It was a hard decision to leave the great team I worked with. Activities department was great, always doing something to engage the residents. If you have a loved one who needs a good rehab, I'd strongly recommend this facility. Social services department is excellent with discharge planning and ensuring all needs are met prior to discharge.

[review] => My mom was here a little over a month for rehab. The daytime staff was awesome!!! I love Dr. Maude, Christian, Jean and Gil are a few that stand out!!! Some of them really really care about their patients more than I have seen at other facilities. And my mom is a picky eater but really liked their food. She even gained a couple pounds from finally eating while she was there. They have activities for the patients. There were all kinds of games and trivia days, a day for manicures, an ice cream social and a BBQ while she was there. If she ever has to go back to a nursing home/rehab again, it would definitely be this one!!

Being out of state and not being able to constantly be there is difficult, however I was blown away by the service here. The transition could not have been easier! Would recommend to anyone looking for any kind of long term/elderly care.

[review] => Based on reviews, I was hesitant to send my husband here to recover from a broken back. I’m glad I followed through because the facility exceeded my expectations. Sue, the Admissions Director was really nice, Chris, the other director kept me informed as to his medical status. The nurses, CNAs, cleaning staff as well as dietary folks worked really hard to ensure my husband was taken care of. They have social activities for the guest staying there, folks out in the meticulously kept gardens. Doug has helped him with physical therapy to help him regain mobility.

[review] => My mother went to this nursing home 4-years ago.
-Understaff and Undertrained Staffing (they were always short staffed and may of the staff would quit after only a few weeks.
-No compassion (Rude and Nasty administration)
-Food is not nutritional (no fresh foods, very limited selection)
-Limited supplies (diapers, toilet paper, towels, wash clothes)
-Nurses kept on giving wrong medication, never a doctor on call.
-When my mother had to go to the hospital, it was always a fight with the nursing home not allowing her to go to a hospital.
-Administration lies about everything and constantly.
We just didn't leave our mother in the home, we were active and cared about her well being so when we did bring up these issues to the administration, nurses and other staff members, they didn't want to be bothered, all they cared about is getting paid. We tried many times to get her to another nursing home but it was very difficult because to find a female bed in the Orlando area that was close to family, it was impossible to find another location so we had to deal with Metro West.
My mother finally passed away. Since the covid outbreak we were not able to go into the facility to get her things. A staff members had to pack her belongings and they couldn't even do that right, they "misplaced" her red walker and when we told them we would like her walker back, they again gave us an attituded and told us she didn't have a walker...which we purchased prior to the covid outbreak and gave it to her so she can walk around better, it was a red walker and we never got it back and was treated like rudely by a women name Sue but everyone from this women name Paula to others in the administration side was very rude when you mentioned or got involved with our mothers care, for the past 4-years we were treated like trash and the staff wasn't bothered one bit. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I've heard many horror stories from other families about the same issues. Don't bring a loved one to this facility if you don't have too!

[review] => If you love your family, don't put them here! Between the food being TERRIBLE and the nurses being understaffed and having to work double shifts and being extremely tired. The front door is not accessible to anyone after 730 without a nurse coming to open the door and they do not give anyone the code. Patients hitting their buttons to call for someone and no one ever showing up or hours later. Hearing people screaming for help while walking down the hallway and no one bothers to check on them. Thieves on the staff that take the patients personal belongings and having to fight to get a paycheck for the items in which you will never see a dime. Only a few good nurses and the rest of the staff could care less. Go anywhere else but here!

[review] => I recently had a stay here and was very apprehensive about going. But, upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to know that I had nothing to worry about. I was greeted by a very friendly staff and felt very much at home. All the staff from Cna’s to therapists to nurses, doctors all very one else made me feel special and very well taken care of. [review] => MetroWest is one of the top facilities in the Orlando area. As a marketer I have toured many facilities in Seminole, Orange and Volusia county and it definitely stands out as one of the more clean, well maintained buildings along with the outstanding commitment to care. Not only is it good looking on the outside but the staff and admin team is unlike any other I’ve ever seen. It’s truely like a family to work with and I would trust them with my loved ones any day of the week!!
